Tara Connolly
Trust in the Public Sector and the Quest for Psychological Safety
Tara started her undergraduate work at Southern Utah University, completing her Bachelors in Business Management at Western Governors University (WGU). In 2021, she earned a Masters in Management and Leadership from WGU. She is also a proud Certified Public Manager (CPM) graduate. Tara has been a state employee for almost 30 years, the majority of which was at the Department of Workforce Services (DWS) writing policy and training staff — her favorite things to do. Working at DWS, she also learned American Sign Language (something she had always wanted to learn since a young age). Her love of effective communication, connecting with others, and motivating employees led to her current position with DHRM. She is driven by the desire to make a positive impact, is deeply curious about figuring out why things are the way they are, and finding innovative solutions to create an encouraging environment for all.
Tara made the decision to be a single mom and adopted her daughter from Ethiopia in 2011. In her free time she loves to box, cook Ethiopian food, binge watch British murder mysteries, and read.
